Our Insignificance

The author of the book of Hebrews quoted Psalm 8 when he asked, "What is man, that remember him? Or the son of man, that visitest him? "(Hebrews 2: 6). In our arrogance, realizing the primacy of humans over the plants and animals that inhabit this planet, it is easy to forget our smallness. But anyone who believes that we are creatures needs to reflect on the greatness of the Creator. Just thinking about it should humiliate us! In this book the author was trying to encourage people to stay firm and ask people to not go back in their old practice and show that Jesus is bigger.

Man may even think that above the insignificant would find some important. Would not the rich and powerful catch the attention of God, even if the rest of the human population did not matter?
The king of Egypt challenged Moses with these words: "Who is the LORD, that I should hearken to him and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, neither will I let Israel go "(Exodus 5: 2). More than 800 years later, the king of Babylon showed the same attitude when he threatened three young Hebrews: "And who is the God that can deliver you out of my hand?" (Daniel 3:15).

PIlatus unto Jesus.  John 19-9-11
10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

As Pilatus Man , can think that he has some power, that he has control of his own life, but man who think in such way, is lying himself, without Jesus we can make through, Jesus said that He is the life the way and the truth, what power has the man? Is the richer better positioned that the power?

Man's ability, including his ability to gain money and power, does not impress the Lord. Both the poor and the rich are insignificant before the Creator: "Only folk are commoners; falsehood, the fine-line; weighing in balance, they together are lighter than vanity "(Psalm 62: 9). Vanity, a total void, weighs nothing. And all men together are lighter yet!

In times of elections, candidates and their supporters spend billions in competition to exert temporary power over some other people. But before the Lord, these whole nations and their leaders are nothing! "All nations are before him as something that is nothing; he considers them less than nothing, like a void "(Isaiah 40:17).

Once we understand this enormous difference between Creator and his creatures, we realize more fully the size of God's love and his grace toward us. He cares for us so much that He sent His Son to rescue us (John 3:16). He gives so much importance to the man who made a point of revealing the Scriptures to guide us into fellowship with him. God values ordinary and insignificant people so much that He has prepared a heavenly and eternal rest for all who obey Him (Hebrews 4:11, 5: 9).
I'm nothing. All of us together are nothing. But God cares about us! Thank God for your kindness and your love!

Thank you Jesus for Loving me.
